Mr. Hughes and Fanny Slater’s collie, Walter, met while sharing a common joy of walking their favorite local beaches near Wilmington, NC.

Fanny Slater is an internationally-published cookbook author, Food Network personality, and winner of Rachael Ray’s Great American Cookbook Competition”. She was a co-host on the Food Network series Kitchen Sink in 2017 and will soon be appearing in on-demand videos for the “Food Network Kitchen App”. Fanny is featured regularly on Cooking Channel’s longtime popular series “Best Thing I Ever Ate” and “The Rachael Ray Show”. In her hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina, Fanny hosted her own series on a local news station called “Fanny in the Kitchen”.
